Happy-New-Year-2014-HD-Theme1Happy New Year!—Well, it is a bit early but just the same, I thought I’d take a moment and just throw down a challenge to my readers this week. Since 2016 is just around the corner, I’d like to know what are your writing goals for the coming year?

Writers Challenge # 1: Do you have a book, novel, short story you plan to publish? Announce your work to the world. Stop by either here at the blog or on my Twitter account and let us know when it’s out so we can pass along the good news!

My book, Crossroad in Time will be published early this year. I’ll let you know when it comes out.

Writers Challenge #2: Have you decided to attend a writer’s conference or workshop? If so, why not share with us the conference or workshop you plan to attend?

My schedule is looking a bit busy for the first six month of 2016 but I’m trying to work it so I can attend Robert McKee’s Story Seminar this year.

Writers Challenge #3: Will you increase your word count? Are you going to up your game and increase your word count in 2016? If so, how about sharing your word count goal with my readers so we can give you the encouragement you deserve.

I managed to average about 2000 words a day during NaNoWriMo and have been able to manage 500 a day since then (remember I word a full time job); that being said, I’m committing to averaging 1000 words a day in the coming year—wish me luck!

Writers Challenge #4: What other areas do you plan to work on in your writing life this year? Do you have any challenges you’d like to make to my readers for the coming year? Now is your time to throw down the gauntlet to your fellow writers.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, good luck with the challenge, and I hope 2016 will be the best year of your writing life, and life in general!

And remember, when all else fails, Just Write!
